The college is managed by Smt.P.D.Hinduja Trust and has been granted minority status.

K.P.B.Hinduja College of Commerce was founded in 1974 by late Shri Parmanad Deepchand Hinduja who was a harmonious blend of philanthropy and mercantile activities. He believed in setting aside a portion of the profits from his business for charitable activities, especially m the field of education and healthcare which he considered to be fundamental right of every human being. The College is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai.

The Junior College has about 2000 students. They are coached by qualified & experienced & dedicated teachers. This is reflected by the high. Percentage of HSC result which has consistently been above 99 for the last 10 years. The result Percentage for academic year 2008- 2009 was 99.07.
The college teaches all subjects of commerce like Book keeping & Accountancy, Organisation of Commerce, Secretarial Practice, Languages, Information Technology, Maths & Economics to support this college has a rich library having 7000 books and many national & International journals. The classes have various facilities like air conditioning and over head projectors.

1. Minority quota students can download the admission form and send it duly filled in along with Rs.50/- D.D. for F.Y.J.C. in favour of K.P.B. Hinduja College of Commerce payable at Mumbai.

Academic Terms:
The academic year will consist of two terms: 1st term-June to Octber2nd term-November to April

Hours of Instruction:
1.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. (Timings are subject to change)
Unaided Section : SP-Hindi division (4.50 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.)

2. Students who seek admission to the Junior college must have passed the S.S.C. examination in Maharashtra.
Other students who have passed I.C.S.E., Central Board or any other equivalent examination must produce an eligibility certificate from the H.S.C. Board, Greater Mumbai for consideration of admission.
New entrants to SYJC from other colleges have to pay admission, caution and library deposit fees.
Original fee receipts must be carefully preserved and submitted to the office at the time of submission of application for refund of caution fee and library deposit.
