Magazine, the college has been ranked second among the
commerce colleges in Mumbai and eleventh in India.

Mr. Noel J. Pinto (F.Y.B.Com) had outstanding achievements
in Table Tennis
1. Won inter collegiate singles tournament conducted by
university of Mumbai
2. Represented University of Mumbai for all India inter
university tournament and won a silver medal.
The following renovation work was carried out as planned.
a. Painting the exterior of both the college buildings.
b. Painting all the class rooms in the college.
c. Tiling of the lower walls in the corridors.

Equipments purchased during the year include 11 Laptops, 1
printers, 1 DLP projector, 22 Cameras and 6 Ceiling Mount
Equipments. A Easy TDS software for tax deducted at source
was also purchased.
Add on courses Certificate in Computer Applications,
Customer Resource Management, Stock Market operations and
Diploma in Computer Applications, Stock Market operations

The Library holdings have been increased by purchasing 1,678
new books and subscribing to 5 new Journals and 44 online
Journals. The existing 77 Journals subscription is
continued. The total value of the new additions of books and
Subscriptions to Journals in the Library is Rs 6,05,072.00
With this increase, the Library holding at the end of the
academic year 2009 – 2010, stood as follows.

There are eleven computers in the Library.
Three Minor Research Projects have been approved by the
University of Mumbai have been completed and submitted.

towards the same. They are currently under preparation.
The Faculty attended 16 International, 78 National, 8 State
and 68 Local Seminars/conferences during the year.
The Faculty presented and published papers at various
International and National Conferences/Seminars. There are 9
international and 8 National Publications.
From the UGC a grant of Rs. 10,15,000 was received under XI
plan merged scheme, a grant of Rs 3,00,000 was received
under Young college scheme and another grant of Rs 3,00,000
was received under Higher Education for persons with special
One day UGC Sponsored National level Seminar on “Changing
Profile of Higher Education in India” was held in the second
term . A Workshop on Unfair Means – Ordinance 5050 and a Two
day Workshop on the Revised Syllabus in Computer Systems and
Applications along with the Board of Studies in Mathematics
and Statistics was held as planned.
To promote faculty development two Faculty Development
programs were conducted. Also, faculty members were
encouraged and given opportunities to attend Refresher
Courses and various Workshops and Seminars all over India.

A Bi-Annual Research Journal titled ‘Revelation’ with a
registered ISIN No. 975-1211 was published in June 2009. The
second issue of December 2009 has also been released.
Prin. Dr. T.A. Shiware received the ‘International Gold Star
Millennium Award’, by Citizen Integration Peace Society at
Bangkok. He also received two National awards namely
‘Eminent Educationist Award’ and ‘Pride of India Award’.
Vice Principal Dr. (Ms) C. Natarajan received the National
award ‘Shikshan Ratna Puraskar’.
Dr. (Ms) C. Natarajan completed her PhD in Transport. Five
faculty members Ms. G. Agarwal, Ms. J. Mamania, Mr. S.
Paulose, Mr. J. Nayak and Ms. S. Modi obtained their M.Phil
degrees. Ms. S. Modi also completed her MBA.
Mr. F. Gadiwalla from the aided section and Mr. H. Janjharia
from the self finance section were conferred with the best
teacher award. Dr.(Ms) A. Narayanan won the best Researcher
